Fly Tying - Thursday Feb. 23, 2012

Starting in January of 2012, we will be starting a five month
course on fly-tying. It will be open to all members of the club
and the general public. It will start off as a basic course on the
basics of fly-tying and be geared to all levels of fly-tying.
We will be starting with the ever popular Wooly-Bugger and
some of its variations.
The club does have some equipment available like vises and
tying tools. Materials will also be supplied.
There will be a minimal cost for the evening. For club members
it will be $3.00 and non-club members, the cost will be $5.00.
This will cover the cost of the room for the evening and the
materials supplied. What you get for this is some expert advice
and instructions on fly-tying and you get to take home several
flies that you have tied for the evening.
There will be plenty of opportunity to receive one on one
assistance as we have several club members that are very good
at fly-tying.
The club is endeavouring to do this in an effort to increase
awareness for the club and for the fly-tying segment of the club.
The joy of catching a nice one (or any fish as far as that goes)
on a fly that you have tied is indescribable.
So please spread the word around. Over the next five months
we will have several guest speakers come in that have a wealth
of knowledge and experience and they will be willing to share
this with anyone that shows up.
